The fabric notes
Made to be worn. Often.
We chose our Naia™ satin for its soft feel, fluid weight and gentle sheen. Breathable and easy to care for, it’s a fabric we want to wear through every season.
01 / WHY WE CHOSE IT
More than a good drape.
Our Badesse top and trouser are made from 100% Naia™ acetate. We chose it for the feel, the weight and the practical things that make a piece worth reaching for again.
Soft against the skin.
A smooth feel, a gentle sheen and enough weight to fall beautifully, without feeling heavy.
For more than one season.
Breathable for warmer days and easy to layer when the weather turns. We wanted a fabric with a place in your wardrobe all year.
Less fuss, more wear.
Ease of washing and care mattered to us as much as the finish. Follow the care label in your piece to keep it looking its best.
Made for everyday wear.
A fluid feel and an easy drape, in pieces made to be reached for often. No special occasion needed.
Considered beyond the surface.
Naia™ starts with responsibly sourced wood pulp, and Eastman recovers and reuses solvents during fibre production. Our Badesse fabric is also OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances against the standard’s limits.
02 / THE MATERIAL
What is Naia™ satin?
Naia™ is a fibre made by Eastman using wood pulp. The pulp is processed into acetate, which can be made into yarn and woven into fabric.
Satin describes the way the yarn is woven. Our satin is woven from 100% Naia™ acetate, giving it a smooth surface, gentle sheen and fluid drape.
03 / THE PROCESS
How it’s made.
- Start with cellulose. Naia™ begins with wood pulp sourced through Eastman’s responsible forestry programme.
- Make the fibre. The pulp is processed into acetate and spun into fine strands of yarn. Solvents used in this process are recovered and reused.
- Weave the satin. The yarn is woven into satin, dyed and finished, ready to be cut and sewn into our Badesse pieces.
04 / CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS
The detail behind the fabric.
Our Badesse fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. This means it has been tested for harmful substances against the standard’s limits for materials worn directly against the skin.
Where the fibre begins. Eastman also publishes forestry credentials, including FSC® and PEFC, for Naia™’s wood-pulp sourcing. These concern the source of the wood; OEKO-TEX® concerns testing for harmful substances.
05 / TAKING CARE
A little care goes a long way.
Keep your Badesse pieces looking their best with a few simple steps.
- Cold wash inside out with similar colours.
- Line dry.
- Use a cool iron on the reverse.
- Do not rub individual stains.
- Take care with jewellery, which may snag the delicate fabric.
Always follow the care label inside your garment.
